I had a very poor experience trying to schedule care with Rosalind Franklin University Health Clinics in North Chicago (Green Bay Rd). After TRICARE approved a referral for my dependent to see a psychiatrist, I called to initiate the new-patient process. I had to navigate a long automated phone tree, only to be asked what I was calling for after already selecting the “new patient” option. When I explained that I was calling on behalf of my dependent—who is on the autism spectrum, illiterate, and has an intellectual disability—the staff member was dismissive, rushed, and unhelpful. I explained that I am currently overseas (Okinawa, Japan) and asked if the intake forms could be emailed so I could assist my dependent. I was told “no,” repeatedly, and directed to a website instead. The clinic requires portal access to complete forms, but you cannot access the portal until you are an established patient—creating an unreasonable barrier for new patients, especially those with disabilities. I absolutely love my therapist Dr.Matyja but the front desk is one of the most rude and incompetent staff I have ever interacted with. Not only do they never answer their phones or respond back to voicemails, but they are the rudest people I have ever spoken to. Today my appointment was supposed to be at 9:30am (that’s what the front desk told me when I had it scheduled), never once did I ever receive any kind of reminder or confirmation emails/texts from them. When I went to log in on the portal I saw that my appointment was at 9:00am and not 9:30am. I was very confused and immediately called the front desk which I had to call 10 times in order to get to someone. They were so incredibly rude and told me it is my responsibility to be on time and it isn’t their problem that I missed my appointment. Even after explaining the miscommunication and trying to figure out what they wrong they had told me that they have so many patients that it’s not their job to tell people when their appointment is. I am so disappointed in this as I love my therapist. At this point I think I might leave.

These low reviews are crazy to me because I went to this clinic for my foot and I was very well taken care of by Dr Dookie! She had two students in there with me first who did all these measurements, asked me all these questions what was wrong with me and then they discussed it with the doctor. Then all three of them came in and talked to me and when I tell you I felt listened to, heard, respected & cared for! My experience was amazing! Everyone was super nice and attentive! I was just amazed!

Called to make an appointment to replace my retiring doctor and the process took weeks. Thats fine, but I left multiple voicemails saying that I found another doctor that is convient to me. When I finally got a call back from RFU, the lady was so mad when I told her I wouldnt be using their services. She told me off about being rude and not informing them and then slam the phone on me.

If you are military (active duty, retired, or dependent) and are seeking medical or behavioral health assistance, RUN! They state they accept Tricare/Humana Military, but they are not willing to work with military circumstances (i.e. your drivers license is from a different state, your state of record is different from the state you live in, etc.) Additionally, they do not respond to calls or emails within a timely manner. After having insurance approval it took 3 days to receive a call back to get set up as a patient. They requested paperwork which was completed and submitted in within 24 hours, however it was an entire week after that (with 2 emails and 4 voicemails left) before a call was returned. Then they stated they would not work with our military circumstances. They are very unprofessional. Do not waste your time.
